Story Book Art

This week in story book art we read 'Superworm' by Julia Donaldson. Superworm turns himself into lots of different things to help his friends. We made our own Superworms and designed them in different ways.

Stick art

This week we finished creating our colourful stick crowns! We also made Stickman puppets to reenact the story of the Stickman!

Today we read another story from author, Julia Donaldson. We read the Stickman and we listened to how he was used in many different ways throughout the story. Next we collected sticks from outside and painted them with various designs ready for our big craft project next week. Watch this space...

Room on the broom!

This week we read a spooky Halloween story about a very kind witch who liked to share her broom with lots of animals. The boys and girls carefully painted a night sky and added characters from the story to their pictures. Take a look...

Draw me a star

We have read another of Eric Carle's classic story book's - Draw me a star. We then began to draw our own stars onto silver foil. Next we carefully cut them out and glued the stars onto a colourful piece of paper. We then decorated a clothes hanger with colouful pipe cleaners to make a star mobile. Take a look...

The Grouchy Ladybird

This week we finished making our grouchy ladybirds and we offered our ideas of how the ladybirds could become less grouchy. For example one child suggested she would tell the ladybird jokes to make him feel happy! 

The bad tempered ladybird

This week boys and girls in the Story Book Art ECA listened to a different story from Eric Carle... 'The bad tempered Ladybird'. We then discussed how we could help the bad tempered ladybird feel less angry and to feel happy instead. Then we began creating our ladybird crafts. 

Beautiful butterflies

Yesterday we finished making our beautiful butterfly crafts from Eric Carle's famous book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We then read another Eric Carle book - The Bad Tempered Ladybird. The ECA group discussed ways in which we could help the ladybird feel less grouchy. Next week we will begin creating our Bad Tempered Ladybird crafts.

This week we finished off our lovely paintings of the Very Hungry Caterpillar. Then we began to decorate beautiful butterfly wings to create a wonderful butterfly craft in next week's ECA.
