Designing plant pots

Last week in our ECA we began planting a variety of plants for our butterfly garden area. Then we began designing plant pots, which we will paint in our next ECA session.

Pancake Day!

This week in our ECA we made and tasted some delicious pancakes to celebrate Pancake Day. We helped Ms. Hays to mix the simple ingredients together and then watched her cook the pancake mixture in a hot frying pan. Once the pancakes were cooked we chose different toppings to put onto our pancakes and tasted our wonderful creations! Yum! 

Thai Science

Today we tried to make paper flowers float. We decorated them, folded them and dropped them into water.

ECA trip to our local farm shop

Before the February half term holiday, our Cooking and Planting ECA went to visit the local farm shop. Whilst there we got to see how salad and other small vegetables are grown in large quantities. Next we got to see how mushrooms are grown. The mushrooms were growing in a small, warm shed and it was pretty stinky inside! Take a look at some of the photographs from our recent visit...
